HANAUMA BAY (SOUTH SHORE)
Oahu's most popular snorkeling spot is this volcanic crater with a broken sea wall; its small, curved, 2,000-foot gold-sand beach is packed elbow-to-elbow with people year-round. The bay's shallow shoreline water and abundant marine life are the main attractions, but this good-looking beach is also popular for sunbathing and people-watching.

The snorkeling mecca of the island. Open 6 am to 6 pm. Closed tuesdays. Open until 10 pm on the 2nd Saturday of each month for night snokeling. 5 dollar to get in.

While Hanauma Bay might be known for it’s outstanding snorkeling, it’s also the best swimming beach on this side of the island. Besides its outstanding facilities including food, lifeguards, snorkel rentals, and a shuttle service, this beach is a great place for swimming.
